Good points, Juliet. But I half disagree with you on "twitter is fun in that you can follow your gurus and 'feel' like you’re getting to know them a little. You’re not, of course."
I think there is potential for getting to know and learn more about people through Twitter. While they may not be following you back, you get insight into who they are and the thoughts they have. If they follow you back, they are certain to see some of the things you write and if your name sticks in their head, you could have an advantage if you get the chance for a face to face meeting.

Great Post, Chris. I think the balance on Twitter is so important; personal vs. Business and more importantly, useful info vs. selling. We all want to monetize our time there, because you can spend so much time just trying to get your head around all the potential of the people "hanging" out. And "who has time to build relationships when looking to earn money?"!!

Twitter is fun in that you can follow your gurus and "feel" like you're getting to know them a little. You're not, of course.

My frustration is the one way conversation. Someone posts, you comment and hear nothing back. It will evolve and change as it gets bigger; will it get better and more fluid?

I think Facebook, when not buggy as it was this weekend, has a greater potential, once we can streamline our interactions there.

Your summary is helpful, thank you.

Cheers, Juliet
